Warranty

At Selec Controls Pvt. Ltd., we are committed to delivering reliable, high-quality products backed by transparent service and strong support. Our warranty policies ensure fair assistance for any manufacturing-related concerns across all Selec product categories, including Solar and Industrial Products.

1. General Warranty Terms (Applicable to All Selec Products)

Selec provides warranty coverage against manufacturing defects under normal and recommended usage conditions.

What This Warranty Covers

  • Repair or replacement of products with confirmed manufacturing defects
  • Support strictly as per Selec's Limited Warranty terms
  • Coverage applicable for products purchased from Selec or authorised partners only

What This Warranty Does NOT Cover

  • Improper installation, negligence, mishandling, or modification
  • Damage due to lightning, fire, water, pests, corrosion, or accidents
  • External electrical faults such as over-voltage, surge, or incorrect wiring
  • Use of incompatible accessories or non-standard installation practices
  • Consequential losses (revenue loss, downtime, third-party damages)
  • Labour, transportation, duties, or onsite service charges
  • Products repaired by unauthorised personnel
  • Missing mandatory protections (MCB/MCCB, SPD, RCD/RCB, earthing, LA)
  • Cosmetic or non-functional defects
  • Ex-display or refurbished units unless covered by a special warranty

Important: Selec’s liability is strictly limited to the repair or replacement of defective units. No incidental, indirect, or consequential damages are covered.


2. Additional Warranty Terms for Non-Solar Selec Products

Standard Warranty Duration (Non-Solar Products)

Warranty is valid until the earliest of:

  • 24 months from manufacturing date OR
  • 18 months from billing date OR
  • 12 months from commissioning date

In-Warranty Support

  • Manufacturing Defect: Free replacement if the product is not repairable
  • Operate Beyond Specifications: Replacement may be provided with approval from Regional Sales Head (special considerations may apply)

Out of Warranty Support

If the product is out of warranty but within 6 years from manufacturing:

  • Slot 1: 2–4 Years
    • Replacement available at MRP less 60%
  • Slot 2: 4–6 Years
    • Replacement available at MRP less 55%
  • Beyond 6 Years
    • No repair or replacement support is applicable

Special Consideration Product Categories

Certain categories follow special warranty & service rules:

  • VFD Series
  • APFC Series
  • MFM Series
  • VAF Series
  • PLC Products & Accessories(Special terms do not apply to low-cost accessories)

Important

Returned faulty products must include a Fault Report for processing.

3. Warranty for Solar On-Grid Inverters

Selec Solar On-Grid Inverters are engineered for long-term performance under Indian grid conditions.

Standard Warranty

  • Inverter: 10 year
  • Accessories (WiFi/GSM modules etc.): 2 years

Warranty Start Date

Warranty begins based on whichever occurs first:

  1. 1. Commissioning date, OR
  2. 2. 6 months from dispatch date

Solar Warranty Limitations

Warranty will not apply if:

  • Installation does not follow Selec’s installation manual
  • Required protections (SPD, MCB/MCCB, RCD, earthing, LA) are missing
  • Voltage/current exceeds rated limits
  • Inverter is moved, uninstalled, or reinstalled incorrectly
  • Serial number/tag is missing, altered, or unreadable
  • Fault caused by other system components
  • Product is opened or repaired by unauthorised individuals

Customer Responsibilities

Customers must provide:

  • Purchase invoice
  • Installation report
  • Model & Serial Number
  • Warranty Claim Form (issued by Selec Service Team)

Customers must also back up/remove any user data before submitting the product for service.


4. Warranty Claim Procedure

To submit a warranty claim:

Provide the following:

  • Completed Warranty Claim Form
  • Invoice copy
  • Installation certificate (for solar products)
  • Model & Serial number of the unit

What Selec May Do

Selec may, at its discretion:

  1. 1. Replace the unit with an equivalent product
  2. 2. Repair the unit at an authorised service provider
  3. 3. Request the product be shipped back for further evaluation

Replaced/repaired units will inherit:

  • Remaining warranty period, OR
  • 3 months warranty
    (whichever is higher)

5. Apply for Solar Warranty Certificate

All solar inverter customers must register their solar product to receive an official warranty certificate.
